Edited April 29, 2016, to add:

And now we know. The scene pictured above in the first photo aired last night in the third episode, The Stigmata of Progress. It is Helena with Donnie!

With the discovery of the maggot bots and the fact that one was implanted in Sarah, Alison and Donnie decide to dig up the body of Aldous Leekie to try and obtain a specimen for Cosima to study. Helena is busy in the kitchen eating for three when two detectives arrive to speak with Alison about a murder. When Donnie pops into the house for water, he notices what was going on and joins Helena and the two detectives for a hilarious, yet suspenseful scene. The photo shows Donnie and Helena at the door after the detectives leave.

Orphan Black – Season Three DVDs are out!

OBSeason3

Hooray! I am now at home after running errands and picking up the Season Three DVD set for Orphan Black which was just released. See you in a couple of days.

Only fooling. I was at a local Wal-Mart bright and early trying to beat the heat. Not on the shelf! Just then a clerk happened to walk by so I asked about the new Orphan Black just out today. She led me over to boxed DVDs on a cart and said that the third shift hadn’t unpacked them for whatever reason. Then the wonderful clerk, rummaged through the boxes until she found it for me. Kudos to her.

Realizing the reality of TV cameras — Surviving Alaska is easy, compared to surviving the filming process

One of my very favorite programs! I enjoy the journeys vicariously.

Of the “Ultimate Survival Alaska” TV show, Soldotna’s Tyler Johnson had the first two words licked. Ultimate survival is supposedly the hardest part of the National Geographic Channel show, in which teams of outdoorsmen navigate through the wilds of the Alaska backcountry, crossing glaciers, fording rivers, climbing mountains and conquering whatever other obstacles lie in their path with just the gear on their backs.

The 38-year-old has been “surviving” the backcountry of Alaska since he was a kid, starting out hiking in the Chugach Mountains of the Kenai Peninsula; graduating…

Free Time Fridays – October 3, 2014

FFTommyPetaChaCha

Free Time Fridays is a weekly meme created and hosted by Shannon at eatupmyfreetime.

If you’re new to Free Time Fridays, the details are at eatupmyfreetime here.

Aside from reading and playing trivia, I spent a lot of time watching television over the past week. One of the highlights was Tommy Chong’s performance of the Tango with Peta Murgatroyd on Dancing With the Stars. Tommy, at age 76, was absolutely amazing. The team finished third of ten couples.

FuscoReese2014Sept

Last week was the return of Person of Interest. This season is interesting since the entire team is on the run from Samaritan and have been forced to take on new identities. In a nice twist, Reese is a detective and now Fusco’s partner! I loved Fusco’s wicked little smile this week as he left a stack of paperwork on Reese’s desk.

I’m sure there must have been other things I’ve done this past week, but what they are escapes me at the moment. It’s your turn now. How did you spend your free time this week or what are you looking forward to this weekend?

The past week I finished two non-fiction books I’ve been reading for a while: Letters from Africa by Karen Blixen and Balzac’s Omelette by Anka Muhlstein. I also started A Pirate Looks at Fifty by Jimmy Buffett. I don’t read a lot of non-fiction so this is an unusual number of non-fiction books for me to have going at once.

I finished two fictions works this week. The first was a short story by Jack Finney, Of Missing Persons. Finney is the author of Time and Again which is a masterpiece of time travel. He’s also the author of Invasion of the Body Snatchers, the basis for several movies. The other book I finished was Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris, the first book of the Sookie Stackhouse series.

On the tv front, I watched the season premieres of Person of Interest and Survivor. Of the new series I sampled, Gotham and Forever were my favorites.

Did I actually ever leave the house? Oh yes, the highlight of my week was getting my flu shot, lol.

That pretty much sums up my free time for this past week. It’s your turn now. How did you spend your free time this week or what are you looking forward to this weekend?

Happy Birthdays! – Orphan Black Clones

SevenClones

Thanks to FLYFISHERJO for researching and recording birthdates and places! It will be a busy spring and just in time for Season Three.

Orphan Clones

While watching Season 1, I got wrapped up in the birth certificates of the various clones that Sarah finds. I started writing them down, then searched for the information on the other clones and came up with this list.
If you can’t send a card to your favourite clone, just bake a cake and eat it in their honour! Post photos of the cakes on the Orphan Black Twitter or FB account just to be sure they know fans out there are celebrating.
There was no recorded birthdate for Rachel. Guess no one wants to celebrate her birthday. 😉

Don’t Miss This New York Times Article of Michael Emerson and Carrie Preston. GREAT PICS!

Marvelous New York Times Article. Thank you for calling it to our attention.

A Farmer’s Breakfast, and Then a Wander

By KARA MAYER ROBINSONFEB. 27, 2014

When the actor Michael Emerson, 59, walks around Manhattan, it’s not unusual for people to stop him and ask if he’ll pose for a picture. The television shows “Lost” and, currently, “Person of Interest” have made his spiky hair, thick-rimmed glasses and long sideburns a giveaway. He takes it in stride, even on Sunday, which he designates a day of leisure, reserved for meandering, cultural events and time with his wife, the actress Carrie Preston, 46 — who herself is recognized for her roles in “True Blood” and “The Good Wife” — and her extended family. The couple live with their rescue dog, Chumley, 4, near Columbus Circle.

Person of Interest grows in popularity

Loved this show from the very first episode.

TheTwoCents

PERSON OF INTEREST is the fastest-growing show on network television, according to Nielsen most current ratings through Dec. 2.

The second-year drama has added +3.63 million viewers (17.26m from 13.63m), a +27% increase from last season. Among adults 18-49, PERSON OF INTEREST is up +0.5 (3.8 from 3.3), making it the fastest-growing drama on network television.

PERSON OF INTEREST, which stars Jim Caviezel, Michael Emerson, Taraji P. Henson and Kevin Chapman, currently ranks as television’s #5 series overall and third-highest-rated drama (behind only CBS’s NCIS and NCIS: LOS ANGELES), out-delivering every scripted program on every other network.

The genesis of a TV show is always an interesting story and the spark that spawned Person of Interest is no different.

“I grew up in the England and there were so many surveillance cameras,” said executive Producer Jonathan Nolan. “They went up in the ‘80s, but my friends and I realized that no one was watching, so we kept on doing our shenanigans.
