Teaser Tuesdays – December 23, 2014

ChristmasTreeTT

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.

Anyone can participate.

If you’re new to Teaser Tuesdays, the details are at MizB’s Should Be Reading or on my Teaser Tuesdays Page.

MizB is on a holiday break this week, but the cost of having a vampire for a guest is too good not to share with other inquiring minds.

Dead to the World
by Charlaine Harris
(Sookie Stackhouse #4)

DeadToTheWorld

As I’d paid for it, I’d thought about how much I was in the hole from hosting Eric already. Clothes and blood mounted up.

Was anyone else able to make time to read this week? Do you have a TT to share with us? If you don’t have a blog, you can share your Teaser here in the comment section below.

  1. Surprisingly, I have found more time within the past days to read than most other days in this entire month! I suspect it is because my children are on winter break 🙂

I can’t quite seem to make sense of the teaser, is someone resurrecting from the dead!? I also have a similar teaser, only that someone being swallowed by the ground! 😛

Yikes, yours sounds scarier than mine, Claudia. One of the things Sookie was purchasing was the artificial blood drink for her vampire guest. Definitely better than being drained herself to feed him, lol.

How do you like this series as it progresses? I’ve only read the first book so far and am wondering about it. Thanks for sharing your teaser and for coming by Through Raspberry Colored Glasses.

My short history with this series is odd. Book #1, not that great, but I liked the characters and it was fun reading the old and new vampire lore. Ok, it was setting up the story, I’ll try the next one. Book #2, still like the characters, but didn’t care much for the storyline. I’m thinking that’s probably it for this series for me, but right at the end was a bit which really grabbed my attention. Yeah, I’ve GOT to see where that goes. Book #3, for me Charlaine Harris has hit her stride with this one, loved it. This one, #4, has been up and down for me. Overall, I suspect I’ll like it enough to read others when time permits. The series won’t be on my ‘must read’ list, but a fun read in between other books.

I’ve held off on watching True Blood because I wanted to read the Sookie Stackhouse series first, and reading your post made me want to hurry up and get it done!

Thanks for sharing, and for stopping by!

I’ve never watched the series either, Danee. Prior to reading these books it was sort of flying under my radar since I don’t have HBO. Now I’m curious about it. Thanks for coming by and commenting.

  4. I gave up after the first book, but maybe I should give the series another try. I’ve fallen a bit behind in my reading/reviewing this week, but I am enjoying Snow Blind by David Coe which is an arc ebook from NetGalley 🙂

I could easily have given up after either of the first two books, but my curiosity got the better of me, lol. I don’t think it will matter if you skip #2, or you can sort of scan through it for the high points. I just finished the fourth book today and will be continuing the series. It’s quite interesting and now has me hooked almost like a soap opera because I want to know what happens next.

Mm, a very vampire Christmas. 🙂

It’s been glorious having more time to read – I devoured Where’d You Go, Bernadette in about 30 hours.

    Happy holidays!
