2016 Reading Challenges – Escape With Dollycas Into A Good Book

Two Reading Challenges which will be new for me in 2016 are hosted at Escape With Dollycas Into A Good Book.

I am making it easy on myself and keeping track at Goodreads.

2016 Alphabet Soup Reading Challenge

alphabet2016

I’ve spotted this one on several blogs this year and it always looked like fun, so I’m in for 2016! Track my progress at Goodreads.

The Alphabet Soup Challenge means that by December 31, 2016, your bowls must be full of one book for each letter of the Alphabet. Each letter counts as one spoonful.

Craving For Cozies Challenge 2016

I’m already reading plenty of mysteries, including cozies, and participating in challenges for them, so why not one more! Here’s the special shelf at Goodreads.

I’ll be shooting for Satisfied: 21 – 40 Cozy Mysteries

*****

If either of these appeal to you, join me in giving them a try! Just click on the Challenge title for details and the sign up page at Escape With Dollycas Into A Good Book.

  1. Enjoy your challenges! I participated in a Cozies Challenge a couple of years ago, and it was fun.

I like cosy mysteries though haven’t read any for a while – esp the quilting ones, but I started a nice series set around different types of tea, just waiting to fill a gap before I can continue with those. Maybe once I’ve finished the non-cosy Reykjavik Murder Mysteries, I can go onto those again!

I’ve heard of those tea ones! Maybe on your blog? Or someone in one of the Challenge groups.

I read a lot of non-cozies too, close to 50/50 for the mysteries. Series are my favorites. I get quite attached to so many of the characters and enjoy keeping up with their lives.

I haven’t read any of the tea ones for ages, so probably somewhere else. And yes, I like the series, I was reading one set in a quilting museum type place and the Monica Ferris wool shop ones, though I’ve dropped back on both.

  3. I love the alphabet soup bowl one!!! It sounds… delicious 😉 I’ll check out that one. Thanks for sharing about these amazing challenges Dagny! I know you’ll be reading so much more that what you’re planning now… 🙂

PS: I’ve always wondered what cozy mysteries are. Can you please tell me what they mean?

When I joined a Cozy Challenge at the beginning of 2015, I was hazy on what were Cozies also. I think I thought they were just Miss Marple type books. I was directed to a Cozy Mystery site and discovered that many of the series I already read were actually considered Cozies. This is the place with all the answers: http://www.cozy-mystery.com/
