Teaser Tuesdays – April 28, 2015

FullMoonTT

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme hosted by MizB of A Daily Rhythm.

Anyone can participate.

If you’re new to Teaser Tuesdays, the details are at MizB’s A Daily Rhythm or on my Teaser Tuesdays Page.

This week I have returned to my favorite genre of series mysteries.

Dead Midnight
(Sharon McCone #21)
by Marcia Muller

DeadMidnight

I drove over to Brannan Street and repeatedly rang the bell, but received no answer. When I dialed her number, I heard only her recorded voice.

It’s been a long time since I read any of the Sharon McCone books so I have a lot of catching up to do. Dead Midnight is the twenty-first book and the thirtieth was published last year.

Have you read any of this series? What is your favorite mystery series? What are you reading now? Do you have a TT to share with us?

This sounds like an interesting mystery series, I will definitely check it out! It’s been too long since I’ve read a good mystery novel. Great teaser! Here’s mine

I’ve enjoyed it. There are about thirty of them now and quite a bit of character development too, so they’re best read pretty much in order. There were a couple of clunkers in it, as is often the case with these long series, but most of them were great.

Good to know! I’ll start with the first novel then.

I was a bit disappointed by the first one, Edwin of the Iron Shoes. But I didn’t know about it and had read several of the others already. I don’t know now if my disappointment came because it was slow as it was setting up the series or if it just couldn’t compare to some of the later ones for me.

Good to know the first book isn’t on the same level as the sequels… I guess that’s the risk of reading the sequels first, where the author might have improved characters, plot or prose.

  2. I’ve not read any of this series but I did enjoy your teaser. Here is my Tuesday post featuring some fictionalised historical crime https://cleopatralovesbooks.wordpress.com/2015/04/28/first-chapter-first-paragraph-april-28/

This sounds like something I’d like. I’ve never read this author but she’s on my wishlist.
