The Lincoln Lawyer
by Michael Connelly
I decided I would need to watch my back with Dobbs. I would keep him close but not that close.
The Lincoln Lawyer is the first book in Connelly’s Mickey Haller series. There are a lot of crossover characters in Connelly’s books. The second and third books of the Mickey Haller series are also part of the Harry Bosch series. I really enjoy it when various characters work together – or in opposition.

Have you read any of Michael Connelly’s books? I’m not up to date but have read over a dozen among the various series.
What are you reading now? Do you have a TT to share with us? Please leave a comment with your link on MizB’s Teaser Tuesday post or below. If you don’t have a blog, you can share your Teaser here in the comment section instead.
I got hooked on Connelly after I saw the movie version of The Lincoln Lawyer and decided to try some of his books. Now I am reading in sequence and will be sorry when I finish. Can Connelly write fast enough in the future to provide me with a book a month? Doubtful.

LOL, probably not. How far are you? I’m anxious to get to the first book with both Mickey and Harry.

Reading in publication order I finished The Overlook. Then I realized that I had skipped Crime Beat, which is non fiction and earlier, so I interrupted the series to read Crime Beat. It appears that next up now is Nine Dragons (2009, with Micky Haller). I read one every other month, so it so I may catch up with Connelly’s current production in 2016.

Looks like you are about three ahead of me, Nancy. I remember your mention of Crime Beat. I will probably skip it and just stick with the fiction. One every other month is a pretty good rate. I know I can’t read any series too close together. I seem to burn out on it if I do.

I’m not up to date on Michael Connelly books either. There are so many of them. I remember this one though, I loved it.

They’re all sooo good. I only remember one or maybe two that I didn’t love quite as much as the others. Now I’m wondering what took me so long to get going on them, lol.

Madame Vauquer,
I have read several of the Harry Bosche novels, but none so far featuring Mickey Haller

Mickey doesn’t show up for a while. I’ve read eleven of the Harry ones plus a Terry McCaleb and a Jack McEvoy and am just now getting to the first Mickey Haller book.

Madame Vauquer,
I think I read the one with Terry McCaleb, and possibly saw the film.
Is that the one that became a film with Client Eastwood, who is recovering from a heart transplant surgery and decides to go after the person who killed the donor of the heart he now has?

That’s the one, Fred! I loved that book so much. I didn’t see the movie.

I enjoyed this book and need to continue on with the series.

I haven’t read anything by this author in a while…in fact, I’m not sure I ever have! LOL
But I see his books everywhere, and loved the movie of The Lincoln Lawyer…so I’m adding this one to the list. Thanks for sharing…and for visiting my blog.

If you liked the movie, then you’ll probably love the book. A buddy of mine said the book was ever so much better (as is often the case, lol). Thanks for coming by.

Madame Vauquer,
I saw the film first and then read the book. I think they made some major changes in the film, which didn’t make sense to me.

I haven’t seen the film of Blood Work. I heard it wasn’t very good. Another Connelly fan told me not to bother watching it. She read the book first.

Madame Vauquer,
As I mentioned, I saw the film first, and it was interesting enough to get me to read the novel.

Yes, she might have liked the film more if she hadn’t read the novel first. Thanks, Fred. I’ll watch for it on one of the movie channels.

I read this one a long time ago…well before the movie came out. I don’t remember a whole lot about it, but I do remember I liked it a lot! Hope you will, too!

I haven’t read either series, but I also like the cross over of characters.

Crossovers are such fun! These aren’t like some of the ones in fan fiction though, they make perfect sense as they’re all characters in current day L.A.

Thanks for coming by. Looks like Haller is going to have some decisions to make in The Lincoln Lawyer, but at least he has more options than your guy in The Rose Master.

Thanks for coming by and commenting, Sandra. I’ll be on the lookout for the movie. Mickey is quite the card.
I especially like the sound of yours this week since if features a couple of middle-aged women instead of ‘youngsters’. Anyway, the title makes me hungry, lol.

I’m another who’s never tried one. Sometimes when an author has so many books I find it a bit intimidating to jump in because there’s so much backstory, but I keep hearing good things about Connelly…

LOL, I know what you mean. I’m hesitant too, but when I find a series I like, it sure is fun catching up.

I read the book after I watched the movie and then watched the movie again. I’ve been reading this authors books for many years and get so excited when he releases a new one. I have all but a couple in hardbacks and will eventually have all of his books. I reread them now and then:)

Interesting, Laura. I’m going to watch for the movie. You probably know this, but just in case, Connelly is working on getting some Bosch stuff made. I’m not sure, but I think it might be for on-line viewing, like Netflix or something.
Thanks for coming by to comment and leaving your link.

I say ‘About Time!” Harry needs to be seen. I think Mathew did a good job of portraying him in the movie.

He’s been writing a couple of decades and has had more than one movie made of his books, so you’ve probably run across his name. Thank you for coming by.

I read this one a couple years ago and enjoyed it. Despite not having seen the movie, I had Matthew M’s voice in my head the entire time — based on that alone he seems a good choice to portray Mickey. Mine: The Heart of Christmas
