Teaser Tuesdays – November 18, 2014

McWayFallsTT

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.

Anyone can participate.

If you’re new to Teaser Tuesdays, the details are at MizB’s Should Be Reading or on my Teaser Tuesdays Page.

*****

Mine this week is from a Stephen King book. I saw many good mentions of Duma Key on various blogs and at Goodreads. The one that decided me to read it now was this one on Emma’s blog, BluChickenNinja.

Duma Key by Stephen King

I was supposed to lose my life, but didn’t. I was supposed to be mentally impaired thanks to the contracoup thing, and at first I was, but it passed.

What are you reading now? Do you have a TT to share with us?

Please leave a comment with your link on MizB’s Teaser Tuesday post or below. If you don’t have a blog, you can share your Teaser here in the comment section instead.

interesting teaser. is it scary? Happy reading

    • Just started it, so don’t know yet if it will be scary – his situation before sure sounds like it was with his mind. From the sound of Emma’s post on it, there are scary parts, but not scary overall. She calls it her “comfort” book.

Thanks for coming by and commenting. I’m wondering what sort of baby critter that is in your book this week!

Looks interesting! Will you post a review when you’re done?

    • Probably not, I rarely do, but thanks for asking. If I really, really like a book, I add a short bit at Goodreads and occasionally a second post here, but nothing really along the lines of a ‘review.’

  4. I am curious about this one…I love some of SK’s works, and others, not so much. This one sounds good. Thanks for sharing…and for visiting my blog.

    • That’s me also when it comes to Stephen King. I enjoyed most of his early ones, then he lost me with those long sagas. Thanks for coming by. It sounds like yours this week is a fascinating thriller.

  6. This sounds like there is quite a bit of backstory which is interesting. I have promised myself I’ll read a SK book in 2015 so I’ll be back to see your review. Here is my TT http://cleopatralovesbooks.wordpress.com/2014/11/18/teaser-tuesday-november-18/

    • Thanks for leaving your link for everyone, Cleo! I rarely do reviews. Except for 11/22/63 (super read, especially for someone my age that lived through those days)m this is the only Stephen King I’ve read in ages.

  7. There are more than few Stephen King features today, and to be quite honest, I wouldn’t dare read any of his work; I’m too terrified. His work, plays way too many psychological mind games in my opinion and it freaks me out! I do hope you enjoy it though 🙂

I just finished his 11/23/63 a while back. I have to pace myself w/ King because his books have gotten so long and take a serious time commitment.

    • You got that right, Suzie. I owned 11/22/63, so it didn’t matter that it took a while – even though it seemed I was reading it every chance I got, lol. Duma Key is a library book and it will be a miracle if I don’t have to renew it.

  9. Interest peaked from that review too! I used to read horror a lot more in my younger years- definitely not my favorite genre but sounds like a good one!!
Thanks for coming by my teaser today too:

    • I also read horror more in my younger days, King, Clive Barker, Dean Koontz and the like, but rarely pick up one by them these days. Thanks for leaving your link to End of Secrets. Looks like a thriller.

A Stephen King novel I haven’t heard of! He has so many though, haha. I’ve only read Carrie myself. Anyway, hope you enjoy reading this 🙂

    • I am beginning to understand what Emma meant in her post about Duma Key which I referenced above. If it goes the way I think it will, I will certainly enjoy it immensely. Thanks for coming by. I’ve got yours in mind if I get the chance to try a Swedish author.

    • I am, Heena, thanks! I was hoping it would win the poll at Goodreads, but c’est la vie. Then I was going to wait, but after reading Emma’s post about it, I got too impatient to get going on it.

      • Same here… We actually thought of starting Duma Key side by side, as there were 3-4 who wanted to read but I guess after reading Pet Sematary, everyone’s taking a Lil breather from King…. lol… at least I am… I thought I’ll read it next month… but the heck with it… after reading your post, I already sent my req. to issue Duma Key from my lib…. I’ll start it by Tuesday. … 🙂
King’ stories are really irresistible… right!!!
