The Closers
by Michael Connelly
The point is, I need the gun. I need the badge.
Cover blurb:
He walked away from the job three years ago. But Harry Bosch cannot resist the call to join the elite Open/Unsolved Unit.
His mission: solve murders whose investigations were flawed, stalled, or abandoned to L.A.’s tides of crime.
The Closers is Michael Connelly’s eleventh Harry Bosch mystery and I have thoroughly enjoyed all of them. My introduction came many years ago when, during a camping trip, another camper and I traded the books we had already read. One of the ones he gave me was The Last Coyote which is the fourth in Connelly’s Harry Bosch series. I knew then that I wanted to read the series and read them in order.
Have you read any of Connelly’s books? What are you reading now? Do you have a TT to share with us?
Please leave a comment with your link on MizB’s Teaser Tuesday post or below. If you don’t have a blog, you can share your Teaser here in the comment section instead.
I haven’t read any of this series but you make me want to start. My teasers this week are from Visions by Kelley Armstrong and The Testing by Joelle Charbonneau. Happy reading!

Thanks for coming by and leaving your link, Kathy. I especially like the sound of Visions.

I see Michael Connolly’s name popping up a lot but I still haven’t read any of his books. Sounds intriguing though.

I love them, Sarah. Here’s the Goodreads page with a quick overview of his books. https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/12470.Michael_Connelly It shows four series, but really they run all together.
Nothing supernatural though in Connelly’s books (yet). Thanks for coming by. Sarah’s this week is Moon Called in case there are any werewolf fans reading this. I loved the tv series Forever Knight.

I haven’t read any of the books in this series, but I will one of these days. Guess I’d better start with the first one.
My Teaser is from WHERE OR WHEN.

Yes, there is a lot of character development and life changes, especially after the first few books. If you look at the Goodreads page https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/12470.Michael_Connelly you’ll see four series listed but they are interrelated. Some of the reads just blew me away.
Thanks for coming by and leaving your TT link. Does it pay to revisit the past? Or not?

I haven’t read any of Michael Connelly books although I’m sure I’d enjoy them if your teaser is anything to go by. Thanks for visiting my TT http://cleopatralovesbooks.wordpress.com/2014/08/12/teaser-tuesday-august-12/

Thanks for coming by and commenting, Cleo. I do like Connelly’s books. They’re not cozies, but they don’t have a lot of undue violence either.

Sounds perfect – I’m not too keen on too much graphic violence.

Me neither, Cleo. I’ve read a few books where I really liked the protagonist and usually their cohorts also, but there was just too much time spent on descriptions of the violence. Usually I’ll give the series another shot just in case, but generally they end up not working out for me.

I’ve never read any of his books, but sounds like the speaker has some problems. Or just really, really likes/needs his job. Cool tease!
My Teaser.

Yes, Harry has some problems. He’s a Vietnam vet, so that probably tells you something. One of his things is that he doesn’t want any victim to be forgotten. He cares just as much for a ‘nobody’ as if it were a high profile case.
Thanks for leaving your link.

I read “The Lincoln Lawyer” a few years back and enjoyed it, but have not read any books in this series. My teaser: Bridge to Terabithia

The Lincoln Lawyer is the next Connelly book for me! Then the next two LL books are listed as being in both series, so he must have turned out to be popular.

Thanks for stopping by my tease. I love Harry Bosch! I’ve read all but the latest. Been following the series for years.

Another Harry fan! I started the series late and what with keeping up with other series, am only up to 2005. I have loved every single one I’ve read and am also reading his other series. Some of the books have just blown me away. A Darkness More Than Night is one of those.
Your TT for The Rain Dancers sounds good too. Creepy.

I read one of the Harry Bosch books long ago, but couldn’t get into it. I think because I didn’t realize it was a series, I started in the middle and it didn’t work so well. I was missing some background. I did enjoy The Lincoln Lawyer, though!
Thanks for stopping by!

Well, you never know. The background is definitely a plus and there are a couple where I temporarily didn’t like Harry very much. I can see someone starting with one of those would be put off. Not all series are for everyone. There are some series I just don’t like and couldn’t really even say why, lol.
Thanks for coming by and for your TT about the twin sisters. It sounds fascinating.

I like the teaser. It says a lot about the character and how important his job is to him. Thanks for sharing! Laura @ Through Raspberry Colored Glasses

I haven’t read any of this author’s books; in fact, I hardly read any police/detective books at all! But when I do feel the urge to read any, I tend to lean towards John Grisham 🙂

LOL, just what I was saying to Kim. We all have our preferences. I’m not keen on the legal thrillers–although there have been a couple that I really enjoyed. I pretty much stick to the coppers and the P.I.s. Thanks for stopping by!

I don’t think I’ve read any of this series before, but it looks really good! I’ll have to put it on the TBR list 😀
Thanks for having stopped by my blog!
