Death of Yesterday
by M. C. Beaton
There was a village here that was supposed to be right friendly but along came the Hydro Electric Board, built the dam and made the loch, and the old village was drowned. So folks say there’s a curse on the place.
Death of Yesterday (2013) is the 29th entry in the Hamish Macbeth series. It is one of the few series I began reading from the beginning (Death of a Gossip, 1985) which is still ongoing. Thank you, M.C. Beaton!
What are you reading now? Do you have a TT to share with us?
Please leave a comment with your link on MizB’s Teaser Tuesday post or below. If you don’t have a blog, you can share your Teaser here in the comment section instead.
Good beginning.
Mine this week is a drama about a woman with Borderline Personality Disorder (and there may be a bit of romance in there too…)

I think I need to catch up on the Hamish McBeth books. I loved the BBC series.

Thanks for commenting, Suzie. Look at my last Friday Finds post ( http://wp.me/pZnGI-9S ) where FlyfisherJo and I mention the books vs the series. She saw the series first and I read the books first.

I like the way that one starts. I have to admit I haven’t read any in that series yet, but it does sound like something I might enjoy. Thanks for coming by my blog Through Raspberry Colored Glasses.

Thanks for commenting. These are more like cozies than hard-boiled. I read both plus the ones in between, lol.

This sounds like an excellent series. Guess I’d better get started if I’m going to read all of them.
My Tuesday post features THE MOST UNSUITABLE WIFE.

LOL, yes there are a lot of them. I’ve read series with more, but with no more new ones coming.
Yours sounds like it has some humor in it. I always enjoy that.

I’ve read a few books in the Agatha Raisin series, but have yet to try this series. Glad you enjoyed it!

Thanks! I love the Agatha series also. The two characters are quite different–although as Hamish ages, he seems to be getting more and more like Agatha, lol.

“there’s a curse on the place.” Yes, that’s intriguing. I always think that, if I was looking for a house/apt.where something bad happened, I’d still live there. But the situation has never come up and I wonder if I’m as brave as I like to think I am.

I was living in a rented house once and one of the bedroom doors would always swing open or closed. It’s been so long now, close to fifty years, that I forget which way. We just thought it was a bit warped or not quite level. We found out later that a man had died in that bedroom. It was a violent crime though or anything, just illness.
Thanks for coming by. I really like your blog in general, especially after I saw the post on Jackie.

Intriguing teaser! I really like the cover and the title of the book, it gave me goosebumps. Will be waiting for your review for this one! :_

Thank you. The teaser is a bit of a fooler though. No real curses or haunted places. Straight forward entry in a mystery series. Yours though–sounds like there is definitely something going on there of which we know not.
