Being a fan of Jimmy Buffett and his music, I was aware that he had written several books, but hadn’t yet read one. I was unable to resist Swine Not? when I saw the engaging cover.
Swine Not? A Novel Pig Tale
by Jimmy Buffett, illustrations by Helen Bransford
I think there comes a time in everyone’s life when the werewolf-like winds of misdirection and the beasts of bad timing put us in an impossible situation. In my case, the question was this: How did a 151-pound pet pig manage to live undetected in a four-star hotel in New York up until this very moment?
From the Margaritaville website:
Come along as master storyteller Jimmy Buffett presents a gumbo of captivating characters and outrageous events in this wonderfully entertaining pig tale—proving once again that stretching the truth is a lot of fun, and laughing is the best vacation of all.
It was serendipitous when longtime friend Helen Bransford showed Jimmy a short manuscript and photo-illustrations based on her pet pig, Forkie. For years Helen’s friends had been entertained by her funny stories about her adventures in New York City, hiding the family pig in an upscale hotel. Now Bransford, an author and artist, presents readers with an unforgettable pig accompanied by a tale that only Jimmy Buffett could invent.

I’m not a Parrot Head but I did live in South Florida for quite a while. So I’m sure I’d love this book! Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
My Teaser is from NOT THE MARRYING KIND.

Just so you won’t be surprised, as the Teaser intimates, it takes place in New York City. But it’s cute-the trials and tribulations of a pig living in NYC. So far all the narration has been by the pig or one of his young owners.

And quite a self-sufficient pig too. A sample of some of the pig’s later narration: “The air was filled with the smell of lunchtime, which brought happy tears to my eyes . . . and a tiny trickle of drool to my lips.”
